Rooted in the community optimistically seeking solutions

Peter Normand has lived in Rogers Park and the 49th ward first as a renter and now very recently as a homeowner since 2014. He is an enthusiastic gardener and believes in ability for community driven projects to empower individuals and communities to do good and aspire to be better.

Peter Normand is a registered architect in the State of Illinois and has experience bringing together a diverse team of experts and stakeholders to solve complex and challenging problems. Always eager to mentor and help people reach their highest potential he has coached dozens of aspiring architects in the wake of the 2008 recession and help those professionals find a track to a meaningful career. Helping people find jobs that can be the start of a career, regardless of the profession, is the one things Peter Normand enjoys more than gardening.

Peter has been a leader with the Pottawattomie Park Advisory Council since 2015. He has worked with a dedicated team of volunteers to develop community events such as the Halloween Haunted House, Spring Plant Sale, Picnic and Movie In the park and park cleanup events. Peter also led the successful effort to secure a grant to restore the ball fields at Pottawattomie Park.  The hard work of the Pottawattomie Park Advisory council is evident in the series of community driven improvements that make Pottawattomie Park thrive and Peter Normand has been a driving force for positive improvements at the park.
